Night and day lenses are contacts that can be worn while you're sleeping as well as during the day. Similar names for this type of lens includes "continuous wear" and "flexible wear".
All ACUVUE contacts lenses that are listed as 2-week disposables, are also night and day lenses. Just the replacement schedule is different. Instead of throwing them away after two weeks, you can wear any of these lenses for up to six consecutive nights before replacing them with a fresh pair.
The advantage of these lenses are that you have the flexibility to keep your contacts in when you're not in a place you can easily remove or clean them. You don't have worry about them.
Here are the ACUVUE® contacts that can be worn as 2 week disposable lenses AND as 1-week night and day lenses:
ACUVUE® Advance is the newest generation of 2-week lenses that give you all day comfort. The lenses are made with HYDRACLEAR, a fancy marketing term for a proprietary material that keeps lenses wet, soft and ultra comfortable to wear.
ACUVUE® Advance is also available if you have astigmatism.
Like ACUVUE® Advance, ACUVUE® Oasys contact lenses are made with HYDRACLEAR, which keeps the lenses moist and comfortable for wearing all day.
ACUVUE® Oaysis may be for you if you work outside in a dry or windy environment, if you work in front of a computer all day, or even if you find your eyes tired and uncomfortable at the end of the day.
ACUVUE® contact lenses were the first disposable contact lenses that were to be worn for one week, and then thrown away and replaced. Today, they are still recognized as one of the most comfortable and easy to insert contacts. One of the advantages of these lenses is that they are not as expensive as other products such as ACUVUE® Advance.
ACUVUE® 2 contact lenses are excellent lenses that can be worn daily for two weeks before being thrown away. They differ from other 2-week lenses in that they are not as expensive and do not feature the latest comfort-based lens materials. However, ACUVUE® 2 also comes in a range of colors for enhancing or changing your eye color.
Essentially the same lens as ACUVUE® 2 clear contact lenses, the colors are a fun and inexpensive way to update your look. There are a total of ten colors to chose from, seven that will change your eye color completely (ideal for dark eyes), and three that will enhance the natural color of light eyes.
ACUVUE® Toric contact lenses are designed for people with astigmatism. These lenses are proven in comfort and provide exceptional visual acuity. They also won't shift in your eye when you look or lie down.
ACUVUE® Brand BIFOCAL contact lenses are designed for people with Presbyopia (inability to focus on short distances). The lens does require some getting used to, but people report that they adapt in less than a few days.
Contact lenses are medical devices that should be worn under the prescription, direction, and supervision of an eye care professional. Have your eyes examined regularly and always follow the proper instructions for the correct use and care of your contact lenses. If you experience any pain or discomfort, remove them immediately and consult your eye doctor.
